PostHog Setup Guide

This guide will help you connect your PostHog data to Analytra. Once connected, your PostHog data will be automatically synced to your Analytra account.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you'll need:

1. A PostHog account with admin access
2. Your PostHog instance URL (e.g., https://eu.posthog.com for EU)
3. A PostHog API key

Getting Your PostHog API Key

1. Log in to your PostHog account
2. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner
3. Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu
4. In the left sidebar, click on "Project Settings"
5. Click on "Project API Keys"
6. Copy your "Private API Key" (it starts with phx_)

Connecting PostHog to Analytra

1. In Analytra, go to "Data Sources" in the left sidebar
2. Click the "Connect New Source" button
3. Select "PostHog" from the list of available sources
4. Fill in the following details:

• API Key: Paste your Private API Key \
• PostHog URL: Your PostHog instance URL

Click "Connect" to establish connection and sync data

What Data Gets Synced Once connected

Analytra will sync the following data from PostHog:

• Events \
• Users \
• Feature Flags \
• Cohorts \
• Insights \
• Annotations
  The initial sync may take a few minutes depending on the amount of data.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

1. Connection Failed \
   • Check if your API key is correct \
   • Verify your PostHog URL is correct \
   • Ensure your PostHog instance is accessible

Security Note

Your PostHog API key is encrypted and stored securely.

Rate Limits and Data Refresh

• Data is synced daily by default
• Historical data is imported for the last 12 months by default
• API calls are optimized to respect Google Ads API quotas
