Google Ads Setup Guide
This guide will help you connect your Google Ads data to Analytra. Once connected, your Google Ads data will be automatically synced to your Analytra account.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, you'll need:
- A Google Ads account with administrative access
- Your Google Ads Customer ID
Finding Your Customer ID
Your Customer ID (also known as client ID) is the number that appears in the top right corner of your Google Ads interface:
- Log in to your Google Ads account
- Look at the top right corner
- You'll see a number in the format: XXX-XXX-XXXX
- This is your Customer ID
- Paste the Customer ID in the format: XXX-XXX-XXXX
Connecting Google Ads to Analytra
- In Analytra, go to "Connect Data" in the left sidebar
- Click the "Connect" button in the table for Google Ads
- Click "Authenticate with Google Ads"
- You'll be redirected to Google's OAuth consent screen
- Select the Google account associated with your Ads account
- Grant the requested permissions
- After successful authentication, you'll need to provide:
- Customer ID: Your Google Ads account customer ID
What Data Gets Synced
Once connected, Analytra will sync the following data from Google Ads:
- Campaigns
- Ad Groups
- Ads
- Keywords
- Search Terms
- Conversions
- Click and Cost Data
- Performance Metrics
The initial sync may take a few minutes depending on the amount of historical data.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
- OAuth Connection Failed
- Ensure you're using the correct Google account
- Check if you have admin access to the Google Ads account
- Try clearing your browser cache and cookies
- Invalid Customer ID
- Make sure to use the format XXX-XXX-XXXX
- Verify you have access to this customer ID
- Check if the account is active and not suspended
Security Note
Your Google Ads credentials are encrypted and stored securely. The OAuth connection is handled directly through Google's authentication servers, and we never see or store your Google password.
Rate Limits and Data Refresh
- Data is synced daily by default
- Historical data is imported for the last 12 months by default
- API calls are optimized to respect Google Ads API quotas
