Learn how to connect your Google Analytics 4 (GA4) data to Analytra in a few simple steps.
Google Analytics Setup Guide
This guide will help you connect your Google Analytics 4 (GA4) data to Analytra. Once connected, your GA4 data will be automatically synced to your Analytra account.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, you'll need:
- A Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Account
- Google account with "Viewer" or higher access to the GA4 property
- The property ID of your GA4 property
Finding Your GA4 Property ID
- Sign in to your Google Analytics account
- Go to Admin (gear icon in the bottom left)
- In the Property column, select the property you want to connect
- Under Property Settings, you'll find your Property ID (format 9-digit: XXXXXXXXX)
Connecting Google Analytics to Analytra
- In Analytra, go to "Connect Data" in the left sidebar
- Select "Google Analytics" from the list of available sources
- Click "Authenticate with Google Analytics"
- You'll be redirected to Google's OAuth consent screen
- Select the Google account that has access to your GA4 property
- Grant the requested permissions
- After authentication, enter your Property ID and connect
What Data Gets Synced
Once connected, Analytra will sync the following data from your GA4 property:
- Daily Active Users
- Sessions
- Page Views
- Events
- User Properties
- Conversion Events
- E-commerce Data (if configured)
- Campaign Data
- Traffic Source Data
The initial sync may take a few hours depending on the amount of historical data.
Data Freshness and Sync Schedule
- Data is synced daily by default
- GA4 data typically has a 24-48 hour delay
- Historical data is imported for the last 12 months by default
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
- OAuth Connection Failed
- Ensure you're using the correct Google account
- Verify you have at least "Viewer" access to the GA4 property
- Try clearing your browser cache and cookies
- No Data Available
- Check if your GA4 property is collecting data
- Verify the property ID is correct
- Ensure the property has data within the sync timeframe
- Missing Data
- Confirm the events are being tracked in GA4
- Check if custom dimensions/metrics are properly configured
- Allow 24-48 hours for data to appear in reports
Security and Privacy
- Your Google Analytics credentials are encrypted and stored securely
- OAuth connection is handled directly through Google's authentication servers
- We never see or store your Google password
- Data is processed in compliance with Google Analytics Terms of Service
